ACQ Timber Treatment
ACQ has been in the preferred choice for preservative treatment in environmentally sensitive areas over the past few decades.
The main active ingredient in the ACQ preservative system is copper, which has long been known as an effective wood preservative. The copper is coupled with a quaternary compound (quat) co-biocide for enhanced performance against copper-tolerant fungi and insects. Quats are commonly used in household disinfectants and cleaners.
ACQ (Alkaline Copper Quaternary) treated timber can be used for any building application where protection from fungal decay, termite and other insect attack is required. It is particularly suited for applications such as retaining walls and other heavy industrial building, decking, walkways, benches, outdoor tables and chairs, agricultural and domestic fencing, gazebos and landscaping, where long-term durability and environmental concerns are priorities.
